Wicked

Post by lee »

Since Wicked is a popular topic, I thought I'd start it a thread and post interesting Wicked gossip here.

They are apparently figuring out what will happen next to the cast. The guy who played Fiyero and Carol Kane are going to be in the Broadway show!

They haven't decided who will be the main Elphaba, but Maria is not in the running. Too bad. I wonder what else she is auditioning for.

Yeah! Wicked is great! I think me and Elphaba have a lot in common, too!

Do you mean Maria is out of running for the Broadway Elphaba, or is she still going to be on the touring company?

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Beans

Post by Gulliver »

Hey - what Lee neglected to mention is that the Elphaba that is leaving is none other than Shoshana Bean! I know that will get a lot of you guys excited, though I personally am not too up on this whole 'bean' thing. I just thought it would get more people excited about Wicked... like I am!

If it turns out it's over too fast, I'll make every last moment last

Elphawha?

Post by lee »

To clarify.... Maria is out of the running for the Elphaba of the Touring Company. She was never in the running for the Broadway Elphaba.

She has some hope of maybe auditioning if they create a Wicked that remains permanently in LA.

Say Gulliver,

I don't suppose you know the blank in my last post, do you? I can't ever figure that lyric out.

No one knows if I've been changed for the better, but since I knew you, I have been changed for good.

A sentimental Schlop

Post by Gulliver »

Oh, I just looked it up: verdigris - a green paint!

Wicked is so cool. But maybe I was too quick to judge Rent... Who plays Elphaba in Rent?

And I just had a vision almost like a prophecy

THIS JUST IN- Emerald City Isn't!

Post by lee »

Hey Gulliver,

I was talking to a coworker the other day who had recently read the original Wizard of Oz book. He was telling me all the things the movie doesn't mention.

One interesting thing- Turns out all the people in the Emerald City were forced to wear green goggles, because they were told that the emeralds were too bright and would burn their eyes if they didn't. But in actuality, nothing was green, it just all looked green through the goggles. It was a trick by the Wizard.

The goggles - they do nothing!

Post by Gulliver »

That's crazy about the goggles! I can't believe it. That wizard is so unbelievably awful, it just makes me want to scream!

Do you think you would have liked me as much as Schlop if you had goggles that made everything pink?

I just got the Rent cds you sent me - I will listen to them and let you know what I think.

For all this joy we know who we've got to thank - thank goodness!

Gulliver.... what do you think??

Post by lee »

Hey Gulliver,

Did you download all that Jekyll music yet?

You still have to settle the argument I'm having with Schlop about whether Rent or Jekyll is better.

Though I must admit it came on fast
Still I will believe that it can last

Keep it on the down low

Hey Gulliver,

I just found out some gossip on Maria. I talked to Robert and turns out she's auditioning for the permanent role of Nessa for the touring company.

Keep it hush hush, wouldn't want it to leak out to her forums.

I'll keep you posted on the latest.

Schloping through life

Post by Gulliver »

Hey Lee,

I haven't gotten to listen to those songs very carefully yet --- but I can definitely tell you which is better between Jekyll and Rent: Wicked! No contest really.

Wow - that's crazy she is auditioning for Nessarose! Do you think she will win? She will get to do more sitting that way, I suppose, but the real star of the show (as I am sure you will agree with me) is Elphy. Was that the big news they are going to post at the end of the month?

If so, cool! If not, did you ask what it is?

If so, what is it? If not, why not?

Thanks for the Wicked news - keep on defying gravity Lee!

Debauchery on the Mississippi

Gulliver,

Those new pictures of you on Schlop's site are HYSTERICAL!!

You're one wild and crazy bear!

And I'll stand there with the Wizard
Feeling things I've never felt
And though I'll never show it
I'd be so happy I could melt

Lee in the Emerald City

Hey Gulliver,

Thought you might appreciate this picture of me BACKSTAGE with Maria on the Wicked tour! I'm wearing the hat she wears in the "One Short Day" song.

A hat of a different color

Post by Gulliver »

That's really cool that you got to wear that hat, Lee. Although I can't help but wonder why you didn't invite me to come along... I'm sure you had a good reason, though? You do look very Ozzian in it.

Thanks for taking those pictures of me when you came to St Louis. In that one picture that shows me in the air - don't you think I look just like Elphy when she defies gravity in Wicked? Cool!

Kiss me good-bye, I'm defying gravity
