Schlop's summer internship

Post by Nibs »

Good news! Out of a very competitive applicant pool, Schlop got selected for a summer internship to study Important Birds and Very Important Birds in Forest Park!

Schlop will be spending 5 weeks in St Louis to conduct this research and then he will be having SchlopGPT analyze his findings.

Sneeches and Duddles will be accompanying Schlop to support with field notes and nearby naps.

Meanwhile I'll be going with Lee to keep her safe as she treks across the Alps.

But I'm very excited to see what Schlop discovers bird-wise and if it will make an impact on the field of ornithology.

What color hat do birds prefer?

We are getting close to Schlop's summer internship!

He has to pack tomorrow and get ready since he has some layovers on his way to Forest Park.

Schlop is trying to decide what kind of hat to bring and what kind of protective footwear for his fieldwork.

Schlop is hoping there will be lots of nap time between data analysis.

Pretty exciting!

Birding misadventures

Post by Snuffles »

Schlop has a funny mishap when he went out to spot new birds at the zoo. He had left the Merlin app running and at first thought it had detected hundreds of exotic new birds - only to later realize he had just been on the part of the app that lists all the birds. One clue that things were awry was that the list included the Mute Swan!

Then when Schlop got to the zoo and went in the special bird area all of the birds were just silently looking at Schlop and refusing to even let out a peep so they couldn't be recorded on the app. In fact the only bird squawking was a taunting cardinal who Schlop had already recorded!

Breaking Bird News!

Post by Nibs »

Big Bird news today!

Apparently many species of birds are being renamed because of being named after problematic people.

This is prompting a renaming of even more birds so that no birds are named after people and this can never happen again!

Schlop is going to have to relearn so many new bird names!
