Bunny Spotting

I thought we could here discuss the spotting of bunnies.

How does one spot a bunny?

Have you spotted any bunnies recently?

Where do bunnies come from?

How many bunnies have you spotted at one time?

What kinds of bunnies are there?

My favorite book is about bunnies. I spotted several bunnies throughout the book. Have you read any books about bunnies?

Good topic, little guy.

I recently read a whole book about bunnies.

Waterschlop Down. It's about bunnies and how they meet other bunnies on their quest to find a bunny hill to make their bunny home.

Schlop spotted 72 total bunnies while reading that book with me. I think he might have double counted some bunnies.

I will get back to you after I read my latest bunny book.

Hi. I just finished a story by Kelly Link and there was a whole lot of bunnies of which I spotted! I still have to go back over Petri's notes, but it is looking like there could have been upwards of 100 bunnies. Wow!

Unfortunately the bunnies are all haunted and the story was too scary for me, but Petri read to me aloud all the bunny parts so it was ok.

I have heard from some friends on the pancake network that there was a character on Buffy who had an unexplained fear of bunnies. I don't know if it counts as a bunny spot, but thought it was interesting.

She is always talking about bunnies, and dresses up as a bunny for Halloween since she finds them scary. And right before she dies she talks about bunnies:

“Bunnies. Floppy, hoppy, bunnies.”

Are you guys ever afraid of bunnies?

The Attack of the Swamp Bunny

Hi all bunny spotting enthusiasts!

Lately I have been doing a lot of bunny spotting research for Duddles in preparation for his Bunny Spotting thesis. I came across quite a wild bunny spot that occured in 1979! President Jimmy Carter was on a boat on his pond when a Swamp Rabbit approached him and tried to enter his boat. What did Jimmy Carter do? He splashed him with water and the bunny swam away. This was even captured by a photographer.

Can you guys imagine this? Instead of trying to spot the bunny, the bunny spotted him! I had never even heard that bunny could swim - but apparently these swamp rabbits are very good swimmers. This really opens up whole new realms of bunny spotting. And its good to remember that if a bunny ever tries to approach you, you should splash it with water.

Velveteen Bunnies

Whoa, Petri, cool story about the swamp bunny. Scary though- what is a swamp bunny and why was it so angry with Jimmy Carter?

Schlop and Lee read Velveteen Rabbit last night and Schlop counted 8 bunnies (between tears). I thought I should officially report that.

hmm... I think I might start up a literature area... you know, for books.

What the heck is Velveteen anyway? Ideas?

Bunny follow-up

Hi guys. I've been doing some more research for Duddles' thesis and came across a follow-up to what DJ was referring to about the Buffy character who is afraid of bunnies. Get this - her name is Anya and she is a 1120-year-old demon with an unexplained fear of bunnies! In the episode 'Once more with feeling' there is another demon that is making everyone talk in song as if they were in a musical, and they are trying to figure out what is happening and Anya blames it on bunnies! Check it out:
ANYA
I've got a theory
It could be bunnies !

Bunnies aren't just cute
Like everybody supposes!
They've got them hoppy legs
And twitchy little noses!
And what's with all the carrots?
What do they need such
Good eyesight for anyway?
Bunnies!
Bunnies!
It must be bunnies!
...
Or maybe midgets
Weird huh? Well, back to the research!

Hey guys - I can't believe no one has commented yet about the new Wallace and Gromit movie and how it features bunnies and also lots of little bunnies. We gotta get some bears to see this movie and report back. There's bunnies to be found!

Hey guys.

Did you know there are different species of bunnies.

Schlop spotted this bunny earlier today. Any idea what type it might be?

I still don't get how come that Swamp Bunny was so ANGRY!? What can make a bunny that angry?

Here's another site that talks about the incident:

Shnoodles!

That's my favorite scene in all of Con Air!

It has this great Nicholas Cage line where he says "Put the BUNNY ... BACK ..... IN THE BOX" with this really bad Southern accent!!

Here's what John Malkovich says:

Hey,

Do you guys know what happens to that bunny at the end of Con Air. He's not in such good shape.

Here he is lying in a rain gutter on the Vegas strip:
