Wordle and Friends

Post by Nibs »

The winter of 2021/2022 has brought us many new WORD GAMES!

For a while we've been conflating news of Wordle accomplishments in the NYTimes Mini thread but I am extracting Wordle and its allies into a new thread on these forums so the Mini can return to having full dominion over its own thread.

Meanwhile, the bears are all afluff with excitement these days about Wordle, Worldle, Dordle, Quordle, Semantle, and some other square games that only the St Louis bears have discovered.

Let me chronicle some of the recent notable achievements in the posts that follow....

Wordle and the Two Strings

Post by Nibs »

As we learned in the NYTimes Mini thread, there have been some exciting moments of bears getting the Wordle in 2! I'm gonna write these in third person so I don't look like I'm tooting my own horn too much!

* Dec 26, 2021: Nibs did it with 3 correct letters in the 1st guess.

* Jan 12, 2022: MiniNibs did it with 2 correct letters in the 1st guess.

* Jan 19, 2022: MiniNibs did it with 1 correct letter in the 1st guess.

* Jan 29, 2022: Nibs did it with 0 correct letters in the 1st guess. (Toot Toot!)

* Feb 1, 2022: MiniNibs did it with 3 correct letters in the 1st guess.

* Feb 22, 2022: MiniNibs did it with 3 correct letters in the 1st guess.

The main records waiting to be broken on the WORDLE include:

* Can any bear ever get it in 1?
* Will STEAM ever be the word? Snarf snarf!

Around the Worldle

Post by Nibs »

Worldle has also become very popular with the bears!

Some notable achievements include:

* Nibs accidentally getting St Lucia correct having never heard of that country!

* MiniNibs getting Finland in ONE!

* Both bears getting New Zealand in ONE, snarfs!

I dont even know a Semantle

Post by Nibs »

(Obscure title stretch... points if you get it, snarf)

Semantle has just kicked off with the bears this week and so far has proven very hard!

Both St Louis and Forest bears were unable to solve it all week, including combining forces on a zoom call last night.

Finally today, 2/22/22, MiniNibs took the long-awaited accomplishment and nabbed COSTLY with our first ever Semantle Victory!!! He managed it with only 252 guesses!

Records remaining to be broken:
* Can we get it in less?
* Can the Forest Bears ever get one?

Call me gale

Post by mini-nibs »

First Nibs posted about the history of Sneechmantle - and then yesterday he made history by getting the word historian in only 172 words!

Nibs is now the undisputed Sneechmantle king. Who knows how long that record will stand. Fuzzah to Nibs!

Sing us a song, Piano Bear

Post by mini-nibs »

Wowza!

Yesterday Nibs shocked the Sneechmantle world by deducing the secret word in only 59 guesses!

The secret word was piano! Meanwhile us St Louis Bears were stuck guessing every musical instrument under the sun except for piano.

Congrats to Nibs for this towering achievement in bear puzzle history!

peaches + sneeches = unstoppable!

Post by mini-nibs »

For the past two days Peaches and Sneeches have teamed up to conquer the Sneechmantle - and they have shown conclusively that they are still an effective team!

Usually Sneeches paves the way by finding a green pocket, and then Sneeches explains the pocket to Peaches in such a way that Peaches can now guess the final word!

First they teamed up to get "value" and then yesterday they got "bat". Cool!

46!

Yesterday Nibs shocked the world and bested his own Sneechmantle record to solve "speaker" in only 46 guesses!

Truly a remarkable achievement in bear word gaming. Congrats Nibs!

27!

It's hard to keep up with all the new records Nibs has been setting on Sneechmantle - just yesterday he one-upped himself and solved "manager" in just 27 guesses!

Is it possible Nibs has ESP (extra-Sneechmantle-perception)?

Nine times

Post by Nibs »

We haven't gotten the full scoop yet, but early reports are that the St Louis bears ate a bad rabbit yesterday and entered a hallucinogenic altered state where they were able to solve the Sneechmantle in only 9 guesses and also they saw Trinity get shot and also they met T'Challa's father on the savannah and also they wandered through the Valley of Lost Souls and the Fog of Lost Souls and then eventually woke up with Muffins drooling on the pillow.

Some may argue that altered state Sneechmantle victories are on par with Coors Field homeruns, but we bears think 9 is 9 and give the new Championship Trophy to Mini-Nibs for a record that most certainly will never be broken until the day the word is flag.

Bears: Wow! Nine in Semantle can only be achieved in a hallucinogenic altered state!

No rabbits were harmed in the making of the record this time!

100 meter heardler

Post by mini-nibs »

Whoa - funny meme Nibs! I didn't realize you were so hip with the kids!

Anysneech - there is another game called heardle that everyone assumed no bears could win at since most bears only have familiarity with Pocahontas songs that come right at the start of the movie.

But lo and behold - Snuffles was able to solve a heardle the other day after hearing just 1 second of a song!

It turns out Snuffles is a big fan of Whitney Houston's song "I wanna nap with somebody (with somebody who's fuzzy)"

Way to go Snuffs!

Hello fellow Wordlers,

Nibs had a magnificent wordle today - for the second time he got it in 2 after getting zero colored squares on his first attempt!

Wordle 908 2/6

⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

We all know Nibs likes to start with a head of STEAM, and apparently his go-to second world when that fails completely is WOULD. And today WOULD was the answer!

Congrats to Nibs!

Full STEAM Ahead

Post by mini-nibs »

We all know Nibs' Wordle starting word has long been STEAM - and today was finally the day where the Wordle answer was STEAM!

Luckily Nibs is currently visiting us in St Louis so we got to witness the exciting event of Nibs solving the Wordle in 1.

Congrats to Nibs on this historic achievement and never losing faith in STEAM!
