Ted Schlopso

Post by Shnoodles »

Hey you TV-aholics,

There was quite a number of different television shows us bears were aiming to watch - but at the last minute the decision was made to binge Ted Schlopso since our Apple TV subscriptions are coming to imminent end.

Ted Schlopso is about soccer so now seems like a good time to watch since the World Cup is going on.

Hopefully it will provide us bears with some good chuckles during these cold winter days.

Schlopso season 1

Post by Shnoodles »

Hey you Ted heads,

In the end we decided not to binge Ted Schlopso but instead go at a relaxed pace - and we have now finished season 1. I think overall us bears are liking the show even though for some of us it took awhile to come around to Ted. There is a pretty amusing cast of characters, including Roy who speaks really gruffly, Keeley who has fuzzy pink pillows, Coach Beard who likes to play chess, and Rebecca the boss who likes biscuits (cookies) that Ted bakes.

Nibs pointed out a mistake by the writers since it was supposed to be a mystery that Ted actually baked the biscuits himself - and they later have Ted mention he baked them without the boss showing any surprise. Good spotting as always, Nibs!

In the end it looked like RIchmond would avoid relegation by getting a tie, but then Jamie Tartt scored a goal to beat his old team and send them down to the lower level. But Ted is going to come back to coach them next season and hopefully get back to the Premier league.

We will find out what happens in season 2 - cool!

And in the darkness lasso them

It turns out we were watching Ted Schlopso at the same time as the Lord of the Schlops, and us bears couldn't help but notice Ted and Bilbo were similar in that they had to give up a ring that meant a lot to them and then after giving away the ring showed a flash of great anger. Check it out:

The Pillows of Keeley

Post by mini-nibs »

Earlier we found a Lord of the Schlops connection between Ted and Bilbo, and now thanks to Duddles we have a new connection! Duddles noticed how both Ted Schlopso and The Schlobbit have a character named Keeley / Kili - and they both seem to have unusual pillow preferences. Keeley favors pink fuzzy pillows made from truffula trees while Kili seems to prefer a pillow of walnuts - how peculiar!

Bird by Bird

Post by Shnoodles »

Hey you Led Tasso fans,

Us bears have now finished watching season 2 - it was quite an emotional rollercoaster!

There was one episode about Beard having a night out on town that was quite trippy - and Lee figured out a whole bunch about it including that it was based off a movie. Also she saw that Coach Beard had a Burning Schlop picture and tracked down what camp the actor actually is a part of - wow!

Then there was a part where Ted says "bird by bird" which led to a discussion amongst the bears about the origin of that phrase. Lee had heard that a food critic had to review a lot of bird dishes so she just had to take it one dish at a time and go "bird by bird" - which led to much snarfing!

At the end of the season Richmond won and was promoted back into the Premiership thanks to a penalty shot by Danny Rojas - he was able to overcome the trauma from a previous penalty where he accidentally killed the greyhound mascot. But Nate had a falling out with Ted and now Rupert has recruited him to coach the rival West Ham team.

Wow!
