New saurus

Post by Muffins »

They found a new dinosaur and it is a relative to the BLT-Rex.

It had hollow bones and was very delicate - similar to Duddles. I wonder if it died from being too active?

They found two new dinos in China that were like rabbits!

https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/20/us/dinos ... index.html

They had a snout shaped like a shovel which allowed them to dig burrows.

Kind of like how Schlop's snout allows him to be totally tucked!

Dino Butt!

Post by Muffins »

I think Sneeches might enjoy this article - they've found the first preserved dinosaur butthole!

https://www.livescience.com/first-dinos ... found.html

It's actually called a cloaca - which I think is also that chocolatey drink Schlop likes to have.

They found it had special shading:
Psittacosaurus was countershaded, meaning it had a dark back and a light underside, so its pigmented posterior would have stood out
Reminds me of Schlop's under-tale region!

It also had musk-secreting glands nearby the hole to be used during courtship... gross!
And, just like in most land vertebrates (except for mammals, which have more than one hole for defecation, urination and reproduction), this dinosaur used its hole for everything, which explains why researchers found a fossilized poop in its butt.
Did we really need an explanation for finding poop in its butt? C'mon, scientists!

Flying McNugget

Post by mini-nibs »

Hey cool post Muffins. I like that Porg Pterosaur since he is mini-sized like me
Sinomacrops had the bearing and physique of a chicken nugget
Since that little guy is so cool, I won't give you too hard of a time for posting about a pterosaur in the dinosaur thread even though pterosaurs are not dinosaurs. Instead they are a distant cousin to dinosaurs - kinda like how the Carebear Cousins are cousins to the Carebears.

Picky eater

Post by Muffins »

Scientists have found out that the T. Rex was actually a picky eater with a sensitive palate
In situations where food was plentiful, they may have used their sensitive snouts to eat the more nutritious parts of their prey
This is similar how when snacks are plentiful Schlop will be more selective of what he eats. Schlop also has a sensitive snout that makes him avoid mangoes.

Hey - do you guys remember that time Lee got a BLT. Rex? That was so funny!

Jurassic Schlops

Post by Muffins »

There is a new Jurassic Schlop movie coming out this summer and Lee proposed we watch all the earlier movies so we can be up to date on everything that is going on with these dinos. So far we have watched Jurassic Schlops 1-3. Lee and I were both pleasantly surprised with #3. In particular I liked that it was only 90 minutes long so I was able to watch it in a single day with only a few breaks for naps and snacks in between.

We are going to watch #4 this weekend which I have never seen - I can only imagine what kind of dinos might show up. I hope they have lots of colorful feathers!

Jurassic Schlops completed

Post by Muffins »

Lee and I finally managed to watch all 5 Jurassic Schlops and then Lee even went out and saw the 6th Jurassic Schlop although she had to take a nap during part of it. I will probably watch it when it comes out on streaming.

It turns out there was a volcano on Jurassic Schlop that blew up the whole island but some dinos were rescued and they went to a secret facility in the basement of this guy's house and Lee and I couldn't believe he had a whole secret basement that he didn't know about and there was a laser gun that you could point and when you pressed a button the dino would attack that person. Whew!

65 Schlops

Post by Muffins »

Yesterday I got to hop on the zoom with Schlop and we checked out a new trailer for a movie called 65 - which is about Kylo Ren crash landing on Earth 65 million years ago where he has to fight a dinosaur!

Lee and I agreed the movie looks awesome and we can't wait to watch it!

Hi Muffins!

Nibs and I have gotten really into this German song about dinosaurs that is set to "We Didn't Start the Fire"

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/e9WZfM98_h0

The chorus is "Everyone loves dinos!"

We like the part where he refers to dinos as wearing feather dresses (federkleid), hoo hoo.

It's fun to hear rhymes in another language. I thought you might like it!
