James is coming back!

Post by Shnoodles »

Hey you Jamespardy guys,

I know everyone has been feeling down ever since James lost to Emma the librarian. But good news - James will be back this November to compete in the tournament of champions. Emma will also be there so we will see if they will face each other again.

Go James!

He's back!

Post by Shnoodles »

Hey you Jamespardy fans,

This week the Tournament of Champions starts which means James will be back in action! The questions will be harder and the competition will be fiercer - but us bears believe that James can do it! His first game will be on Wednesday... exciting!

James has made it into the finals of the tournament!

James will play against his nemesis Emma - they will play 2 games (Thursday and Friday) and whoever has the highest score in the end will be crowned the best Jeopardy person of the year!

Unexpected James sighting

Post by Nibs »

YOU GUYS!!!

Lee and I went to dinner at Chai Thai tonight and to our surprise, they had on TV the first round of James vs Emma!

We won't say what happens in case the St Louis bears havent bootleg watched it yet.

But it was very funny because Lee was playing along and had a confident guess for almost every question that was wrong! It was sort of incredible how wrong she was and how she had a close-but-not-right answer for so many questions in a row. I've never seen anything like it.

Good thing Lee was not playing against James.

Anysneech, bears rooting for James in tomorrow's matchup!

James rules!

Post by Snuffles »

Nibs we watched it too - exciting! James got off to a fast start but then missed a daily double which never happens - but then he came back and bet it all again and was right thanks to his all-encompassing geographic knowledge. Emma bet all her money on final jeopardy so James will still have to be on his toes for today's game!

In case you noticed how people laughed when Alex said "genre" it was because this video recently made the rounds:

James did it!

Post by Snuffles »

Emma played well in game #2 and was close enough that she could have caught James if he had missed Final Jeopardy - but it was a question about Japan and James is one quarter Japanese so of course he knew the answer!

Lee pointed out how important James' extra padding was from the first game. It is probably why Schlop keeps so much extra padding around - smart bear!

Hopefully James will be back in the future to take on Jeopardy Ken and Jeopardy Brad.

Yay James!

Oh - also Emma talked about how she liked to sing along to lyrics of musicals to calm down during breaks in Jeopardy - and her favorite musical to sing is Natasha, Pierre, Schlop & The Great Comet of 1812. Cool!

Greatest of All Time!

Post by Shnoodles »

Hey you James-afficianados,

Snuffles you called it - James will be back to take on Brad and Ken in a tournament called The Greatest of all Time aka the GOAT!

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/exc ... 42952.html

We all know Ken as the original Jeopardy Guy who won 74 games in a row back in 2003 - but Brad has never lost at Jeopardy and has bested Ken a few times. How will James fare against these trivia powerhouses? We will find out on January 7th which is just 4 days before Lee's b-day. They will play each night in prime time until someone has won 3 games - so it could last 7 nights!

Cool!

Get your GOAT

Post by Shnoodles »

Hey you Trebek guys,

The tournament to be named the GOAT of Jeopardy is starting in just 2 days on January 7th! Bears are excited to see how James will do against 2 of the best - Brad and Ken.

In order to avoid any spoilers I will once again be donning my Sensory Deprivator 5000 and steering clear of all non-Schlop-related sites on the interwebs.

Go James!

Ken is GOAT

Post by Shnoodles »

Hey you buzzer bears,

Well the GOAT tournament has ended and Nibs and I both watched all 4 episodes. James had a chance to catch Ken in the last game but unfortunately he hadn't watched enough Disney movies in preparation and he missed Iago. Overall Ken was just too good to beat and will go down as the Jeopardy GOAT.

Lee would have dominated the last night since there was a whole category about Broadway shows she just saw! Also she knew all about Chad (the country). She would have beat Brad at least!

Mattpardy

Post by Snuffles »

It's hard to believe over 2 years have passed since James' epic run on Jeopardy - but now there is an exciting new champion Matt!

Season 37 just ended and Matt is on an 18 game winning streak! It will be exciting to see how far Matt can go once season 38 starts in 4 weeks. Personally I think he will win 42 games!

Matt likes Gulliver

Post by Snuffles »

Matt is still going strong on Jeopardy - today he won his 36th game - wow!

Matt is also very active on Twitter and today he posted about how he is a fan of Stephen Colbert and how he named his dog Colbert and wants to one day talk about Lord of the Schlops with Stephen. Gulliver responded about how the two of them could play a game of Lord of the Schlops-themed Jeopardy and then Matt liked the tweet! I think that means Matt and Gulliver are officially friends now. Way to go Gulliver!

Matt went splat

Post by Snuffles »

Oh no - Matt had won 38 games but today he actually finished last and his Jeopardy streak is no more! (I had predicted Matt would win 42 games so I was off by 4 games)

Matt ends with the 2nd longest Jeopardy streak, but still only half of Ken's streak. It's hard to think Ken's feat will ever be surpassed.

Us bears send hugs to Matt, especially Gulliver who is Matt's twitter friend.

Outdoors Bear!

Post by Snuffles »

Amy is now the new Jeopardy ultra-champion breaking all the records - but even more exciting than that is that she has a bear named Outdoors Bear! Outdoors Bear was made by Amy's mom since getting an official Care Bear was too expensive - and Amy has kept Outdoors Bear all these years. Outdoors Bear even has a special chair they sit in.

https://twitter.com/Jeopardamy/status/1 ... 6526575621

Since Duddles was declared an Honorary Care Bear, maybe we could do the same for Outdoors Bear!

Carebear Cousin Once-Removed

Post by Nibs »

It's so exciting that we finally got a picture of Outdoors Bear!!

Just in case that public link ever gets taken away, here's a pic of Outdoors Bear for posterity.

Image

We bears have been discussing what symbols might have been on Outdoors Bear's tummy.

Dave thinks the left 2 items are parts of a big tree!

I thought there was a mountain and a leaf, with some berries on the side.

Schlop is still amazed about the heart-shaped feet pads!

Since Amy is from Oakland, do you think Outdoors Bear is hanging out in Oakland right now?? Could we go visit him?

Bears also are very excited about his special chair and want special chairs of their own.

Meanwhile, bears hope Amy will continue dominating after the College Professor Tournament finishes up!

Schlopardy 2021

Post by mini-nibs »

For Sneechmas we made a special Schlopardy game for the Forest Bears to play and they did quite well - the only misses were about the bear named Pancake (who DJ also thinks was quite forgettable) and Schmigadoon. Nibs really rocked the Hidden Elf category! Thanks for playing, Forest Bears!

Also we got to do two Sunday puzzles (two!) and one of them had little cookie cutter images separating cookies!
