Since Wicked is a popular topic, I thought I'd start it a thread and post interesting Wicked gossip here.


They are apparently figuring out what will happen next to the cast. The guy who played Fiyero and Carol Kane are going to be in the Broadway show!

They haven't decided who will be the main Elphaba, but Maria is not in the running. Too bad. I wonder what else she is auditioning for.

Yeah! Wicked is great! I think me and Elphaba have a lot in common, too!

Hey - what Lee neglected to mention is that the Elphaba that is leaving is none other than Shoshana Bean! I know that will get a lot of you guys excited, though I personally am not too up on this whole 'bean' thing. I just thought it would get more people excited about Wicked... like I am!

To clarify.... Maria is out of the running for the Elphaba of the Touring Company. She was never in the running for the Broadway Elphaba.

She has some hope of maybe auditioning if they create a Wicked that remains permanently in LA.

I was talking to a coworker the other day who had recently read the original Wizard of Oz book. He was telling me all the things the movie doesn't mention.

One interesting thing- Turns out all the people in the Emerald City were forced to wear green goggles, because they were told that the emeralds were too bright and would burn their eyes if they didn't. But in actuality, nothing was green, it just all looked green through the goggles. It was a trick by the Wizard.

That's crazy about the goggles! I can't believe it. That wizard is so unbelievably awful, it just makes me want to scream!

Do you think you would have liked me as much as Schlop if you had goggles that made everything pink?

I just found out some gossip on Maria. I talked to Robert and turns out she's auditioning for the permanent role of Nessa for the touring company.

Keep it hush hush, wouldn't want it to leak out to her forums.

I haven't gotten to listen to those songs very carefully yet --- but I can definitely tell you which is better between Jekyll and Rent: Wicked! No contest really.

Wow - that's crazy she is auditioning for Nessarose! Do you think she will win? She will get to do more sitting that way, I suppose, but the real star of the show (as I am sure you will agree with me) is Elphy. Was that the big news they are going to post at the end of the month?

If so, cool! If not, did you ask what it is?

That's really cool that you got to wear that hat, Lee. Although I can't help but wonder why you didn't invite me to come along... I'm sure you had a good reason, though? You do look very Ozzian in it.

Thanks for taking those pictures of me when you came to St Louis. In that one picture that shows me in the air - don't you think I look just like Elphy when she defies gravity in Wicked? Cool!
