A Spring Trip

Post by Nibs »

The St Louis bears are flocking this way next week and we couldn't be more excited!!

The itinerary is unprecedented. Not only does it include tickets to see Neil and also tickets to see #HAM but I'm hoping to take everyone on the coolest hike I found through an ancient ravine full of ferns!

I'm also hoping to take everyone to Trouble Coffee and maybe to some of the cool new museums that are open now.

And we get to stay on a Chicken Farm!!

And hopefully go stop by the Booksmith and Borderlands and this cool place called Green Apple books that is supposed to be amazing!

Stu is very happy to see his old friends and Klondike can't wait to meet some new friends!

A bear reunion for the ages!!!

Sounds cool... for me to chicken poop on!

Have fun at the chicken farm, everybody. Too bad I can't go because of... that feather allergy I just got.

I guess I will just have to spread out on Schlop's bed and try to enjoy myself while you fools get pecked at. I'm sure I will cry myself to sleep on top of Schlop's seven layers of blankets.

I'm soooo sorry I won't be able to be there, I guess I will just have to put up with having this dope crib all to myself for once.

Ha!

Schlop travels heavy

Post by Nibs »

Hm... but PB we are planning to bring the Alafoss and the 2 fleece blankets and the Mexico blanket with us to the AirBnSneech!

Also the toast pillow!

But I guess you can still sleep on the malm while we are gone.

Zestfully Nibs

Post by Shnoodles »

We are hearing unconfirmed rumors from Oakland that in the midst of a cleaning frenzy, Nibs wrapped himself in a pillowcase and leaped valiantly into the washing machine!

Apparently he was mumbling something about not wanting to be oily and wanting to be fuzzy and hoping that he would get picked to go on more hikes if his fur got a fresh wash.

Bears are standing by to see if emerges from the Great Machines unharmed...

Good luck, little Nibs!

Schlop told me that for this trip he has a new goal to try and become interesting at least 24 hrs before the trip ends instead of right at the end. Hoo hoo!

Hi ho, hi ho

Post by Nibs »

I'm not sure I've done enough hiking lately to keep up on the steep trails.

I might have to huff and puff at a slower pace and meet up with you guys at the top!

Hopefully you can save me some trail snacks!

I should be able to keep up on the downhills though! Hooooo!

Day One: All bears accounted for

Post by Nibs »

So far a good trip!

Bears got in safely last night and our AirBnSneech is pretty rad! The bears particularly like the ladder and Schlop's mini cot!

Today we did a hike to some waterfalls and saw many places Schlop would live if he lived in the woods.

Now we are off to the beach!

Best of Days!

Post by Nibs »

Oh wow what a trip!

So many epic events have already occurred!

Yesterday we hiked from Mill Valley to MUIR WOODS! We went up the Dispea steps (676!) and then meandered down to Muir Woods! We snuck in and did the boardwalk loop and enjoyed some clementines and some trail mix. Then we hiked back!

We also discovered the world's coolest library in a redwood grove!

Then we got pizza and went to see Neil!! And Neil answered Lee's questions- unbelievable!! ("How is being a Dad to Ash different than raising your first 3 kids?") So cool! And somehow Lee and Dave got to sit together despite having separate tickets.

Neil ready many classics, including Iona!! Incredible!!

Then today we finally did the hike I've been waiting for, the Steep Ravine Trail. It was even more spectacular than I remembered with waterfalls every step and it was so cool! (I just misjudged how long it would take, sorry!)

Anyway, we just finished some wraps, what a day!

FOODSTUFFS

Post by Nibs »

Holy sneech, my head is still spinning from what a full and fantastic trip we bears had! It may take me a few days to collect my thoughts and write them all down.

In the meantime, Snowy asked if I could try to chronicle some of the good foodstuffs that we ate, so let me see what I can do... other bears can chime in too!

Cucumber and Blackberry La Croix!
Pancakes!
Wraps, with salami and one time with chicken leftovers
A scramble for dinner with spinach and paremsan! And english muffins!
Oatmeal with berries and bananas (for some)
OJ but not for Duddles
Toasts galore
Cereal for dinner? (Granola crunch with soy milk)
Pizza for dinner in Santa Rosa and then pizza for dessert!
A slow cooker lemon garlic chicken with angel hair pasta
A side salad of arugula and lemon dressing with parmesan slices on top
A very plain carnitas burrito from the taco truck!
Krispy Kreme donuts (2 original, 1 strawberry, 1 nutella deluxe!)
Ben and Jerry's (Tonight Show flavor and Mint Chocolate Chunk)
An English Breakfast Tea with soy milk
Tacolicious Tacos like Obama! (butternut squash and chorizo/potato)
A Dad's portion of steak and potatoes and roasted veggies
Arizmendi pizza with butternut squash and poblano peppers!
Milanos
Teas of every type
Chocolate barks

Did I forget anything??

An unforgettable feast!

A good effort

Not too shabby Nibs. I was planning on making a food post just like yours but you seem to have done a fair job. You are forgetting the cinnamon toast we split at Trouble Cafe though. You did have 'toasts galore' but I think that deserves its own entry.

Oh! How could I forget?! I even got to eat those cinnamon toasts myself! Thanks DJ!

Also Schlop pointed out that I forgot:

The mini oranges on the trails
The trail mix and/or M&Ms
The mighty pile of Twixes

Hooooooooo!
